WhatsApp introduced the "View Once" feature for photos and videos in 2021 to add another layer of privacy to your messages. Today, it's excited to announce that you can now send a voice message that disappears once it's listened to.

Whether you're reading your credit card details to a friend, or planning a surprise, you can now also share sensitive information via voice message with greater peace of mind. To be consistent with the View Once feature across photos and videos, View Once voice messages are clearly marked with a "View Once" icon and can only be played once.

As with all your personal messages, WhatsApp protects your voice messages with end-to-end encryption by default, and the View Once feature is just another example of our ongoing privacy innovations.
