About getting your WhatsApp account banned

If your account is blocked, you will see the following message when you open WhatsApp: "This account is not allowed to use WhatsApp."

We ban accounts if we determine that their activity violates our Terms of Service, for example, if it includes spam, fraudulent content, or phishing messages, or if it puts WhatsApp users at risk. We recommend carefully reviewing the "Acceptable Use of Our Services" section of our Terms of Service to learn about appropriate ways to use WhatsApp and activities that violate our Terms. Learn how to use WhatsApp responsibly in this article.

You cannot access your chat history or backups if your account is banned. You can only access your WhatsApp account backup after the phone number associated with the backup is unbanned.

How to request a review

If you believe your account was blocked in error, tap "Request Review" within the app and we'll look into your case. We'll get back to you as soon as we've completed the review. We only review one phone number per review request.

You can check the status of your application by opening WhatsApp. Please note that contacting WhatsApp outside of the review process or through another user account does not expedite the review process or affect the decision made. Once your account review is complete and our team has made a decision, you will receive a notification from WhatsApp, and you can view this decision within WhatsApp.

Please note that third-party services cannot unblock your account. Only WhatsApp can unblock a WhatsApp account.
